In March 2014, a new Windows 8 app called Power Button arrived. It allowed PC users to turn their computer’s screen off and back on from the Taskbar’s power icon.

While please stand by will certainly help you save battery power, after the first time it restarts the computer when you move the mouse or change your screen position or view angle, this feature is tedious.
It would be nice to add the ability to turn off and turn on the display when the mouse cursor is moving.

By the way, You can setup a keyboard shortcut for the “slide” to turn the display off by using the Power Options in Control Panel → System → Power Options → Advanced.
