Q:
Why does my getBinaryFile() always return null on the first call?
I have a class that I want to return a binary file of my music file.
public static BufferedInputStream getBinaryFile() {
File file = new File(path);
FileInputStream inputStream = null;
try {
inputStream = new FileInputStream(file);
return new BufferedInputStream(inputStream);
} catch (FileNotFoundException e) {
e.printStackTrace();
} finally {
if (inputStream!= null) {
try {
inputStream.close();
} catch (IOException e) {
e.printStackTrace();
}
}
}
return null;
}
I call it like this:
BufferedInputStream inputStream = getBinaryFile();
The problem is that I can’t use this method because it always return null, even if the file is present in the “path” and it’s also in the same directory of the activity.
After some search I found that it’s probably because of a race condition, but I didn’t find a solution.
