History of AutoCAD From the Desktops of the 1980s to Mobile Design

AutoCAD came to prominence in the 1980s when it was first released. Originally, AutoCAD was only available for use on desktop computers running DOS, with a variety of graphics adapters.

Adobe Systems acquired AutoCAD in April 1998 for approximately $790 million.

In May 2000, Autodesk (now a wholly owned subsidiary of Adobe Systems) released AutoCAD LT. The new program required less expensive, less powerful hardware, with software limitations.

After the release of AutoCAD LT, Autodesk introduced AutoCAD R14. R14 introduced a Windows version of AutoCAD in 2002.

In 2005, Autodesk released AutoCAD Civil 3D, which included 3D design and other features such as modeling and animation. Civil 3D was intended to bring the design power of AutoCAD into a single application. In the beginning, it was a separate program, but a few years later, it was integrated into the main program. Civil 3D was then split into Autodesk Revit in 2010.

AutoCAD Timeline

February 1983: The program is packaged and sold with a viewer, a small drawing board, and a printer.

June 1983: The program is first sold with a dedicated computer (the NCR 91, later models were NCR 50 and the NCR 51).

March 1984: The first major update (R1) of the software and the first update of the user’s manual.

April 1985: A plug-in for the NCR 50 is released for viewing DWG files.

AutoCAD Serial Key can import drawing files created in other CAD applications, or by AutoLISP programs, including DWG, DXF, and IGES formats. AutoCAD’s user interface, command names, and the available commands are similar to that of other CAD applications. The file’s attributes are displayed at the bottom of the screen. The drawing area, dimension lines and other drafting features are visible.

Depending on the version and platform, AutoCAD may not recognize other people’s drawings; and if so, there will be an option to open them. If the drawing has been created in the past, it will appear in the Recent Files list.

AutoCAD, like most CAD packages, can be combined with other software programs. When AutoCAD is combined with other software, it will display a dialog box that prompts the user to choose which software they wish to use.

File format

AutoCAD works with several file formats for importing and exporting. Many of these formats are Windows-specific, and they can usually be converted to Windows, Linux, and Unix-based formats, or converted to the most commonly used, BMP. BMP is the most popular format for Windows. AutoCAD also supports PDF and various native formats.

These formats are:
Native.DWG or.DWGX formats (c. 1987–1999)
Portable Document Format (PDF) (c. 1999–present)
Encapsulated PostScript (EPS) (c. 1985–present)
Encapsulated TrueType (EOT) (c. 1988–present)
Encapsulated PostScript (EPS) (c. 1999–present)
Encapsulated TrueType (EOT) (c. 1989–present)
Encapsulated PostScript (EPS) (c. 1998–present)

LG unveiled a new flagship phone on Wednesday: the V30. But this isn’t your typical flagship: the V30 is the first phone from LG to feature a built-in Selfiecam. That’s a bold move, considering the industry’s trend toward phones without lenses in the back and toward portables like the Microsoft Lumia 640. But if the LG V30 is any indication, the smartphone camera market is going to be very different in a few years.

The LG V30 is a great camera phone. Not only does it have an extremely high-quality 20-megapixel lens at the rear (unmatched by the V20 at its launch last year), but it has a bright and colorful front-facing camera to boot. The point is, this camera isn’t there because it had to be—it’s there because LG is confident that its V-series line will be a leader in this area.

A bigger sensor, new modes

The LG V30’s camera app is as simple as you would expect from a company that manufactures washing machines and refrigerators. There’s no settings, no grids, just one camera mode and one picture mode. The interface is clean and well organized: you swipe left and right to switch between modes.

The camera app.

The first mode, a high-resolution 8-megapixel shot, simply highlights the subject and adjusts the brightness and contrast. The second mode, “Natural,” focuses on creating the perfect selfie: it makes the skin look natural, and reduces the blurring of backgrounds that can happen when you’re looking at a close-up. There’s a “Smile” mode for making your subject look extra happy, and a “Sunny” mode to brighten up the sky and landscape. These four modes cover the most common areas you’d use the camera for.
